Balkans

The fascinating Balkan Peninsula has long been the focus of travels, research and food discoveries. From the high mountains to the Black Sea there is much to visit and experience.

The Black Sea provides a completely different adventure. Following Jason and the Argonauts and modern traveller Göran Schildt, who sailed in the Black Sea in 1963, turns the clock back to Antiquity and even earlier, to the Bronze Age.

Travelling in the footsteps of the Finnish Guard with eyewitness narratives from 1877–1878 in the luggage is literally to make a time journey.

There is also a lot of good food to taste in the Balkans – especially in Bulgaria, the land of Orpheus.
